LMC NewsLetter
Topic: Eyes & Ears Hello LMC supporter, resident, and friend. Daryl Lehman here with the 1st edition on the LMC Newsletter. a publication that comes out quarterly to keep you informed on whats happening in YOUR neighborhood. Alot of positive happenings lately, that all of us should be proud of. First of all I would like to thank everyone who has supported the growth and stability of this "Neighborhood Action Committee," through attending our monthly meetings, taking action on your streets, and helping the Cleveland vision of becoming a City of Choice. Without you and your support, I truely feel this would be a dying neighborhood. Today, I am proud to say we are not a dying neighborhood, but one that is starting to thrive, in every aspect a neighborhood should. We have a wonderful police force, a wonderful CDC, and a wonderful councilman, We are the eyes and ears of the police, and need to quit complaining about the lack of police presence in our neighborhood, and need to start helping our elected officials, and police to their jobs. The LMC area has a number of things we are currently doing to help be the eyes and ears for the police, with our Phone Tree, to the collaboration with the police we have established. All of the success of the Longmead McGowan Connection Block Club has to be given back to the individuals that are helping us make this a more peaceful, clean and quiet neighborhood. From our completed Bat Box Grant, to our annual creek clean-ups, and annual garage sales, to our successful protest of the opening of 420 on W.130th on October 27, 2007, to our successful Neighborhood patrols on Halloween night, to the continuous improvements we are making at Milligan Gardens, and the many more projects in the works for spring/summer of 2008 I thank you. We currently have over 4 years of continued service to you, and this neighborhood, with no sight of letting up anytime soon. With our LMC elections at our November 13 meeting, to our sub committees to help deal with a wide range of issues we can help control, to our great sponsorships. We are proving to grow and get more well known in the neighborhood. The main issue we are faced with right now is the constant car breakins in the area. We are only a Block Club, but have so much we can do together to help our neighbors. Everyone needs to start being the eyes and ears for the police, but more importantly we need to be neighborly, and look out for each other. That is the the one thing we all need to work on, inside and outside this Block Club. As always it has been a privlidge in leading the Longmead McGowan Connection Block Club, further in the right direction of a more peaceful, clean and quiet neighborhood Thank you. Sincerely, Daryl Lehman President LMC Block Club A Neighborhood Action Committee |
